About

A white canvas, a white sheet of paper. An untouched space of beauty and purity, yet so yearning for the artist’s vision. There is no end to all the possibilities…

Ever since I was a child, not a single empty piece of paper was safe from me. And when my father, as if his pencil was enchanted, created animals and people alike out of nothingness. It felt like magic to me. And Even though it is now me, C’stinne, who creates from nothingness… It is this beautiful, playful but intense process of creation which has never altered that magical feeling for me.

Because I’m a more sensitive person, I can feel and experience some moments vividly. It allows me to have a stronger connection with the arts of nature, music and beauty. This is why I describe my work more as “Abstract intuitive”, which is a reflection of these experiences. Although, occasionally I do enjoy working figuratively as well.

The pouring technique, which I use for my abstract work, teaches me how to let go of control and have faith in it’s ever changing design. There are no limitations, no rules, no rights or wrongs… There is only the joy of creation alongside the freedom to experiment with new techniques, new materials and self expression. It is this process of creation which gives me the desire, energy and love to start anew on that beautiful and magical white canvas.
